Today's subject is Erin Werner, who you can see a rough drawing of in my recent uploads.
Character ChartCharacter's full name: Erin Ingrid Werner
Reason or meaning of name: She's of partially Germanic extraction
Character's nickname: Liebchen, Schatzi
Reason for nickname: Pretty standard terms of endearment.
Birth date: Subject to change if I modify the timeline, but as of right now A.C. 162
How old does he/she appear: Hard to pin down, somewhere between 16 and 22
Weight: Not sure on a number, but she's fairly light.
Body build: Lean and wiry.
Shape of face: Thin, with prominent cheekbones.
Eye color: Green
Glasses or contacts: No
Skin tone: Fairly tan from regular sun exposure, but also freckled across her face.
Distinguishing marks: None to speak of.
Predominant features: Oddly "playful" eyes, slightly pug nose, unruly red hair, crooked front teeth.
Hair color: Red
Type of hair: Straight, likened to a clump of dry grass.
Hairstyle: Unwashed windblown mop that sticks up and out in various directions.
Voice: Maybe a little sing-songy and childlike. Has the Germanic accent typical of the region,
Overall attractiveness: She could be a sort of pretty "girl next door" type if she would clean up a bit…and you know, not be psychotic.
Physical disabilities: None.
Usual fashion of dress: Desert utilitarian. Army surplus green coveralls and boots, goggles and scarf wrapped around her face. Around the house, tank tops and cutoff shorts, often barefoot.
Favorite outfit: See above, though she's always wanted a pretty dress.
Jewelry or accessories: Necklace given to her by Rickett. Knives, rifle.
PersonalityGood personality traits: Well, she's pretty competent at desert survival I guess.
Bad personality traits: Most of them. An apparent inability to feel empathy would be a big one though.
Mood character is most often in: Inappropriately cheerful.
Sense of humor: Cruel, though she might not even realize it.
Character's greatest joy in life: Rickett. Going to town to look at pretty dresses and all the other things she will be able to afford some day. Being in charge.
Character's greatest fear: Being left behind, forgotten.
Why?: She is an extreme narcissist and likes to have attention lavished upon her.
What single event would most throw this character's life into complete turmoil? Her mom dying seems to have really thrown her off-kilter. Her father or Rickett going away would probably push her completely over the edge.
Character is most at ease when: Everyone does what she wants.
Most ill at ease when: She doesn't get her way.
Enraged when: Brother gets "disobedient", people she forms attachments to or becomes possessive of try and leave her.
Depressed or sad when: Someone close to her dies, because they can't pay attention to her anymore. She also gets bummed out when she and Rickett break up periodically.
Priorities: She wants to marry Rickett, have a baby named Klaus or Karoline, see the big city and the sea, find a new mom/big sister.
Life philosophy: "What's…pillow-sofy???"
If granted one wish, it would be: She would like her mom back.
Why? She misses her terribly, and quite frankly, she could use the female role model.
Character's soft spot: Pretty, girly things.
Is this soft spot obvious to others? Not based on how she looks, but she is open in her appreciation for this stuff.
Greatest strength: Like everyone in the region, she's a hard person who can handle a fair bit of adversity.
Greatest vulnerability or weakness: She's not very smart, so it isn't all that hard to outwit her, and she has fairly poor impulse control. She is very bad at "reading" people and often behaves inappropriately in social situations. The reality is that she has an undiagnosed developmental disability and her mental capacity is about on par with a ten-year old.
Biggest regret: I'm not totally sure Erin is even capable of regret or remorse.
Minor regret: See above.
Biggest accomplishment: I guess the fact that she isn't dead or pregnant.
Minor accomplishment: At least she's found a way to make money…
Past failures he/she would be embarrassed to have people know about: Some of her attempts at romantic escapades have turned into badly bungled failures.
Why? It makes her feel like an unappealing failure.
Character's darkest secret: She killed another teenage girl in a fight in one of the mining camps by bashing her head in with a brick, it was pure luck she wasn't discovered and arrested by the WuPos. She also knows about her father's activities and says and does nothing about it, she doesn't seem to care much.
Does anyone else know? Nobody but Erin knows what happened to that girl. Wuestenpolizei Inspektor Radovan Kempka had his suspicions during the investigation but no evidence. As far as the insane stuff that goes on in the Werner house, her brother and father and Uncle Digger all know, the latter two being the ones who perpetrate it. She is pretty sure that Mugg and Derbit know too, however these two seem to be entities she made up, so it probably doesn't matter.
GoalsDrives and motivations: Erin's overwhelming drive is to get everything she wants, one way or another.
Immediate goals: Stop Linn from leaving.
Long term goals: Marry Rickett, have a big house and kids and a closet full of pretty dresses.
How the character plans to accomplish these goals: Force, in the case of Linn. Hope in the case of Rickett, she thinks eventually he will propose to her. Somehow this guy has managed to completely fool her.
How other characters will be affected: Badly, as Erin seems to be devoid of empathy so she really won't care about the consequences her actions have on those around her.
PastHometown: She lives in the shadow of the huge rock called the Teufelsschemel, about 30 miles west of La'Keela.
Type of childhood: She grew up isolated in the desert living with her meek twin brother her religious mother and a violent lecherous drunk for a father.
Pets: None now, though she had a few dogs growing up. She once got to watch her dad beat one to death with an axe handle.
First memory: Her mother singing to her.
Most important childhood memory: Mutti (Mommy), Braiding her hair and telling her what a pretty girl she is. Then there were bad memories of Vati (Daddy) too, but those things he did weren't his fault, it was just the alcohol…..
Why: Both sets of experiences helped color her personality as she grew up, these, coupled with her mental disability have made her who she is today..
Childhood hero: She had an odd hero worship for her father. "Did you know he was in the War!? He killed a skryke with his bare hands!"
Dream job: Job? What?
Education: No formal schooling.
Religion: Her mother was very religious and imparted this to her daughter.
Finances: Family was very poor.
PresentCurrent location: She still lives in her childhood home near the Teufelsschemel.
Currently living with: "Vati" (Daddy) Alois Werner, and brother, Eric Werner.
Pets: None, though there's still a dog skeleton under one of the junked automobiles out back. Sometimes she lays on her stomach and stares at it for long periods of time.
Religion: Still believes in some warped version of Christianity.
Occupation: Uh…She's well *ahem* known by the miners in the region. When she's not in the camps she spends her days lazing around the house or wandering around the dunes, usually with her brother in tow.
Finances: She usually doesn't have that much paper money, but she also gets things in return for…other things…
FamilyMother: Siobhan (Keefe) Werner.
Relationship with her: She's dead now, but they were very close.
Father: Alois Werner.
Relationship with him: Erin idolizes her Vati, though she shouldn't.
Siblings: Eric Werner, twin brother.
Relationship with them: Erin totally dominates her meek brother, she is often physically and verbally abusive to him.
Significant other: "Rickett", her so-called boyfriend.
Relationship with him/her: Usually she thinks it's great, and they will get married someday. Every so often she gets mad at him and breaks up with him but she always goes back, Really Rickett is more like a pimp who completely manipulates Erin. One of the few people who can. Well, Alois can manipulate his daughter too, but usually it involves a backhand.
Relationship with them: N/A
Other important family members: Some sixty years prior, Ezekial "Cannibal Zeke" Werner was a serial killer who was hanged in Darna by the Wuestenpolizei after a long manhunt. He killed seventeen people, mostly women. Uncle Digger is another person Erin regularly interacts with, although his actual relationship to the Werner family is a bit unclear.
FavoritesColor: Green, like her eyes, though she also loves Linn's blond hair.
Least favorite color: Brown, because everything is brown where she lives.
Music: She likes the current crop of Araean popular music, however being as cut off from the cities as she is, she doesn't realize that most of the music she considers "trendy" is ten to fifteen years old.
Food: She eats pretty much anything. You can't be picky in the desert. She does love pastries and candies, though she doesn't get the latter often.
Literature: Her reading skills are poor. She doesn't really read on her own time. Her mother used to read to her from the Bible .
Form of entertainment: She likes to hang out at the mining camps with Rickett and the guys.
Expressions: "Es werde licht!" (let there be light!) She seems to get a kick out of saying it whenever she turns on a light.
Mode of transportation: She walks most places but she sometimes drives the family dune buggy or rides in the sidecar of Rickett's moto-scooter.
Most prized possession: Necklace Rickett gave her, a box full of her mother's things.
HabitsHobbies: Wandering the dunes, looking for salvage, socializing with the miners. Sometimes she target shoots from the top of the Teufelsschemel.
Plays a musical instrument? No.
Plays a sport? Not really.
How he/she would spend a rainy day: Probably standing out in it with her mouth open.
Spending habits: On the rare occasions she goes into La'Keela she spends whatever money she manages to acquire on frivolous crap mostly. Candy and cakes and hair ribbons etc..
Smokes: She's been known to.
Other drugs: It's likely she's experimented with whatever controlled substance happened to be floating around the mining camps.
What does he/she do too much of? Everything. Nothing exceeds like excess!
What does he/she do too little of? Thinking.
Extremely skilled at: Fighting, surviving in the desert, dodging items thrown at her by Vati, terrorizing her twin brother.
Extremely unskilled at: Reading, writing, 'rithmetic, good judgement, sobriety, chastity….
Nervous tics: Nervous tics? None really. She sticks her tongue out when thinking hard though, as if the pressure generated by the effort of using her brain is forcing it out of her head.
Usual body posture: Nothing unique about her stance on her feet. On furniture she tends to sprawl rather than sit upright.
Mannerisms: She often cocks her head to one side when she doesn't comprehend something. She obnoxiously chews with her mouth open. She laughs at her own japes, usually more than anyone else does, and laughs at times when it isn't called for.
Peculiarities: Everything. Her flippant attitude in the face of tragedy, inappropriate responses to events. Overreaction to minor slights. Rapid mood swings. Weird childlike demeanor.
TraitsOptimist or pessimist? Optimist. "You'll like it here Linn, you'll see!"
Introvert or extrovert? Very extroverted but in all the wrong ways.
Daredevil or cautious? Daredevil
Logical or emotional? Emotional.
Disorderly and messy or methodical and neat? Disorderly.
Prefers working or relaxing? She's kind of hyper and is always ready to do something but never invests that energy into actual work.
Confident or unsure of himself/herself? Defaults toward high confidence, though her ego is easily damaged.
Animal lover? She thinks she is. Animals probably disagree.
Self-perceptionHow he/she feels about himself/herself: She thinks she is pretty great.
One word the character would use to describe self: Fun.
One paragraph description of how the character would describe self: "Everyone thinks I'm fun. The boys at the camp are always so happy to see me. I'm Vati's favorite too. I'm a twin but my brother is stupid. Vati says he's a schwule. Your hair is pretty, can I braid it? What were we talking about?"
What does the character consider his/her best personality trait? She thinks of herself as quite brave and daring and fun to be with. Go ahead YOU tell her she isn't…
What does the character consider his/her worst personality trait? Erin probably lacks the introspective ability to find real fault with herself.
What does the character consider his/her best physical characteristic? She thinks she has a nice face and her eyes are pretty.
What does the character consider his/her worst physical characteristic? Erin is disappointed by her hair and doesn't like how lean and gangly she is, she wishes she were a bit more on the err "buxom" side, you know, like the girls in Vati's calenders.
How does the character think others perceive him/her: She think everyone loves her, and that she is Vati's favorite (probably true on that second count). She thinks Linn wants to be her friend (for a while anyway.)
What would the character most like to change about himself/herself: A host of fairly superficial and petty things, considering her age. Consistent with what a nine or ten year old girl might want.
Relationships with othersOpinion of other people in general: Oddly she is always ready to give people a chance. She genuinely enjoys making friends. She can turn on them quite fast though.
Does the character hide his/her true opinions and emotions from others? Not usually.
Person character most hates: Probably the girl she murdered. She feels a high degree of contempt for her brother, but doesn't actually hate him.

Person character feels shy or awkward around: No one.
Person character openly admires: Vati, Linn.
Person character secretly admires: She has a crush on the young Wuestenpolizei officer who sometimes inspects the mining camps. Vati would not react well to his daughter cozying up to law-enforcement personnel and Rickett would be mad.
Most important person in character's life before story starts: Mutti, Vati and Rickett.
After story starts: Vati and Rickett.
